A 14-year-old girl died in Glenwood on Thursday, a week after giving birth to her twins.
Yokai Dandara died at Sally Mugabe Hospital and her body remains at the morgue awaiting autopsy.
The girl became pregnant by her nephew, Tatenda Janji (24 years old), and the matter was kept secret after a family meeting.
However, the Dandara and Zhanje families quarreled, with the former demanding compensation before Yeukai was buried.
They are said to have asked for US$1,500 before reducing it to one cow and seven goats.
“Yeukai’s parents are late,” a source told H-Metro.
“She was sexually assaulted by Tatenda several times until she became pregnant while they were staying in Dandara village in Murehwa.
“The two were taken to the Glenwood suburb of Harare after a family meeting to hide their incestuous relationship and pregnancy from villagers.
“Tatenda found part-time work as a loader in the city, but he will face difficulties in taking care of the children.”

News of Yeukai’s death has now spread in Dandara Village and some villagers have threatened to demonstrate against the Zhanje family for turning a blind eye while Tatenda abused an orphan.
Tatenda told H-Metro that Ukai gave birth through a caesarean section at the Sally Mugabe Maternity Hospital.
“She showed no signs of postpartum complications.
He added: “It is expected that an autopsy will be performed on her body tomorrow (today) before we transport her for burial in Murehwa.”
While it is not clear exactly why youkai died, the physical stress of pregnancy and childbirth can be challenging for someone with a developing body, potentially leading to complications.
The emotional challenge of caring for a child, while she is still a child, can make the situation even more difficult. h metro
