A suspected car battery thief over the weekend was assaulted by a mob in Rua and later died during a chicken run at a house in the area.
The suspect has been identified as Shadrick Marissa, who was caught stealing the batteries when the incident occurred.
National Police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing.
“Police in Ruwa are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder case in which 34-year-old Shadrick Marissa died while running birds at a house in Damavalls, Phase 5, Ruwa. He added that the victim was assaulted by a mob in the Gazebo area where the Caught stealing batteries.
In another case, police in Bindura are investigating a murder case in which a yet-to-be-identified man was found dead with a stab wound to his chest near the Cutco Banning site.
The victim was wearing blue jeans, an orange shirt, black pants, a gray hat, pink shoes, and a watch.
Anyone who has information that may assist in the investigation should contact the nearest police station.
The two incidents come after police are still investigating the case where a 48-year-old man was found dead last Tuesday on the balcony of an abandoned house in Mayambara, Seki with a deep head wound.
The body of the victim, identified as Danielle Mpendula, has been taken to a local hospital morgue for an autopsy as police begin their investigation into the case.
