A five-year-old girl, who was playing in the streets with her friends, was kidnapped by a man in Kuwadzana, in a case that sent shockwaves throughout Kuwadzana 3 at the weekend.
Tendai Nhambasora (23) from Kuwadzana has been arrested and is now appearing before Harare magistrate, Ethel Rutendo Chichira.
He was charged with kidnapping the girl.
Members of the public helped the child after she told them that she did not even know the man who kidnapped her.
They reported the case to the police, which led to the arrest of Nhambasura.
Nhambasura approached the girls while they were playing and befriended them before joining their games.
While they were playing, Nhambasura allegedly grabbed the child, lifted her and ran away with her.
The girl’s mother noticed that she was missing and inquired with the other children.
They told her that Nhambasura had taken her.

Then she started searching for her child.
Two audience members saw Nhambasura with the crying child.
The child asked them to help her and told them that she did not know the man who was with her and had beaten her.
The two men then arrested Nhambasura and took him to the police, where the child was reunited with her family. h metro
