DEALER ARRESTED AFTER MONTHS ON THE RUN newsdzeZimbabweNewsdzeZimbabwe

An electronics dealer, who has been on the run since last year on charges of defrauding his customers, is now facing the force of justice.

He appeared in court yesterday.

Shepherd Gonda (39) was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi, who ordered him remanded in custody pending a bail ruling today.

The court heard that on April 11 last year, the complainant was looking for a laptop and mobile phone to buy for her child.

I contacted Jonda to inquire about the Samsung S21 Ultra and HP Envy. Jonda informed her that the price of the laptop would be $1,740.

He allegedly asked her to give money to his little brother so he could deliver the items.

The items were dropped off at her office and received by Shamiso Masango who also paid the money in full.

The complainant was later informed that the items delivered were not what she had ordered and she contacted Gonda who promised to bring the correct order.

She makes several attempts to get the money back, but he is evasive.

Gonda was arrested on Monday. h metro
