THREE CHADONHA WOMEN DRAGGED TO COURT newsdzeZimbabweNewsdzeZimbabwe

Three women appeared in court yesterday, as their video went viral on social media at the weekend after they were caught stealing from a 22-year-old woman using the classic ‘shadonnah’ trick.

Francisca Zanda, Silvia Jundo and Emilia Moriva have also been linked to five other cases from last year. They will remain in custody until their bail hearing tomorrow.

The court heard that on January 20, the complainant, Rubavadzo Moroka, saw something that looked like a bundle of money at the corner of Nelson Mandela and Mbuya Nehanda Street.

The trio then asked her to share the money equally.

Moriva then went to a nearby store claiming she was going to count the money, and returned saying it amounted to $720.

She then asked Rubavadzo to hand over her money and possessions so she could go and split the money at the store.

Rubavadzo handed over $267 and her cell phone and got the package in a sock.

She went to the store and found that she had handed over the papers when she took the package out of the stocking.

I went out to look for the trio, but they disappeared.

Tafadoa Chidau, who witnessed and filmed the entire incident, helped her recover her money and mobile phone.

In another case which occurred on December 9 last year, the trio approached Lynette Nyamarouba of Zingeza using the same modus operandi.

Nyamaruba lost her mobile phone and US$80.

Ellen Rukwiza of New Mabvuku also fell victim to the trio and lost her wallet containing US$200. h metro
