Several local companies are advertising Starlink Internet Services tools, especially on Facebook, in violation of the law.
Many also installed gadgets.
An official from Potraz confirmed that raids will be carried out soon to deal with violators of the law. Starlink is not yet licensed and anyone declaring this is risking arrest.
“The sale or use of Starlink is not permitted in Zimbabwe and police will be launching raids and arrests soon.
“All those advertising these devices are putting themselves at risk and are warned to stop selling and using them.
“We are seeing this and proper processes are needed.”
The official added: “We will be conducting raids with the police in Harare soon.
“Unauthorized telecommunications are not permitted. The service must wait for approval, and the communications process states that it must not interfere with other services.
“Their approval is absolutely necessary to ensure that there is no frequency interference.
“Starlink is still in the process of applying for a license, and has not yet been licensed.
