Shalom Zingwe, a first-year student at Atlantic Academy in Harare, sat his Cambridge O Level exams last year when he was just 14 and achieved three A grades in computer science, accounting and economics with a BA in mathematics, geography and business studies.
The school principal, Patience Mofukuzana, said after consulting with her parents, Shalom will move to lower sixth form from first grade.
“We agreed that she should move to lower sixth level because she had done so well. Normally, learners take these exams at the age of 16 or 17 and it is remarkable that she achieved this at only 14,” said Mofukuzana.
Another pupil from the same school, Kudzaichi Mahka, sat exams aged just 15 and achieved seven A grades in chemistry, physics, accountancy, computer science, mathematics, biology and geography.
Overall, the school recorded a success rate of 95 percent. Announce
