An unidentified man was attacked yesterday by a mob, who accused him of kidnapping a child in Chitungwiza.
The crowd severely beat the suspected kidnapper after he tried to flee on foot carrying the three-month-old child.
The man reportedly entered the cabin and kidnapped the child. The child’s father woke up to the sound of the door closing. He gave chase while screaming for help.
People hit the suspect with anything they could get their hands on, resulting in serious head injuries.
He was later transferred to Chitungwiza Police Station.
Harare Provincial Police spokeswoman, Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa, said she had not yet received a report on the incident. h metro
